Dr. Ron Boyer (Retired)

Originally from Warrensburg, Missouri, Dr. Boyer moved to Oklahoma City in the 4th grade (where he met Cindy, his future wife) and graduated from Putnam City High School in 1971. He earned his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Oklahoma State University in 1978, where he also played tight end for the football team, notably defeating BYU in the 1975 Fiesta Bowl.

For the first 13 years of his career, Dr. Boyer practiced large animal care in Holdenville before founding Boyer Veterinary Clinic in 1991 and shifting his focus to small animals. However, his deep love for veterinary medicine and large animals remained evident through his personal farming endeavors. Since 2005, he’s managed a 395-acre farm with his wife Cindy, raising cows, goats, donkeys, and horses while enjoying country life and a cabin he built with his own hands.

Dr. Boyer and Cindy married in 1972 and have raised a close-knit family. They are proud parents of four children, including two sons who also became veterinarians, and grandparents to 18 grandchildren.

After decades of service, Dr. Boyer retired in late 2024, leaving a solid legacy of community-focused, compassionate care. As part of this transition, the clinic was renamed Capstone Veterinary Care, reflecting the culmination of Dr. Boyer’s decades of dedication and the practice’s new chapter in the excellent hands of Dr. Wright. Dr. Boyer’s passion for animals and commitment to his patients have shaped Capstone Veterinary Care into the trusted practice it is today. Though he is no longer practicing, Dr. Boyer’s influence, values, and vision live on in the clinic’s dedicated team.

Please join us in wishing Dr. Boyer the wonderful retirement he so richly deserves and thanking him for his legacy of exceptional care for the animals and people of our community.
